Operative Codes 2.0

About six months after its first release “Operative Codes” turns 2.0!

A lot of requests

During these months I have received some requests and suggestions, both via comments on the App Store and via e-mails. Users ask me to add features and when possible I tried to do my best to fulfill them. In particular I introduced:

  • A way to change the name of the bank
  • Custom labels
  • The option to add alphanumeric codes and not only digits
  • Support for iOS 6 (which unfortunately caused some problems)

in addition to the ever-present bugfixes.

One missing feature

One thing I forgot when I started development: multiple cards for a single person. I have to admit, I was no forward-looking and I did not think about possible evolutions! Some users, early in first months, noticed this lack and reported it to me but since the code was not intended for this feature, I was not able to add it immediately. Among others, I received this comment on the Italian page of the PRO version:

You can insert ONLY ONE CARD, it was so difficult to add multiple cards to this app? Literally wasted moneys!

Apart from the fact that we can discuss the way (and also the form) used to write this comment, also I can say that the description on App Store stated explicitly that only one card was supported and you should also think that I provide a free version (which you should probably try before buying the paid one)... but what I would say is: if it is really so easy to develop an app like this why, my dear Frederick, didn't you create it by yourself? Bah, some people are a little crazy... Well, to be honest, there were also other comments, for example:

If I may suggest something, it would be great an update that adds the opportunity to insert multiple cards for those who, like me, owns different accounts. This would make the app more usable.

Well, for both of them (and also for all other users), I am happy to announce that Op. Codes 2.0 is about to be shipped. I just submitted it to Apple and I hope that it quickly goes over reviewers phase.

Following what users suggested to me, I decided to provide 4 virtual cards to all users of the PRO version and 2 cards to those using the free one. In addition, for standard users there's the possibility to buy up to two additional cards via in-app purchase in order to have the most wide range of offerings.

I hope this will induce the author of the first comment to revise it and, maybe, to reconsider in a different way my app.
